Actress and reality TV star Helen Flanagan has revealed she was left “shaken and uncomfortable” after a disturbing confrontation with an aggressive man on the London Underground.
The former Coronation Street actress recounted the incident on social media, explaining how she witnessed a man secretly taking a photo of a female passenger. Although Flanagan initially felt too intimidated to intervene, another woman challenged the man, demanding, “Excuse me, did you take a picture of that woman?”
The situation quickly escalated as the man hurled a stream of foul-mouthed abuse at the brave passenger, telling her to “eff off” and “shut the eff up.” Flanagan, describing herself as a “girl’s girl,” then stepped in to support the woman, confronting the man directly: “Don’t effing speak to her like that. I saw you, you did take a picture of her. You’re lying.”
The confrontation took a bizarre turn when the man lashed out at Flanagan, mocking her appearance and accusing her of having “so much Botox.” He then made a snide remark about her drinking iced coffee through a straw.
Despite feeling deeply intimidated, Flanagan managed to keep her composure, telling the man, “I feel sorry for you.” She admitted to her followers: “It’s not nice as a woman to actually feel intimidated. He was just an absolute idiot.”
The star’s candid account has sparked conversation online about women’s safety and the importance of standing up for others.
