Snoop Dogg Sparks Telegram Frenzy, Sells One Million NFT Gifts in 30 Minutes

Legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg has once again set the internet ablaze—this time with a music video and track called “Gifts” dedicated to Telegram and the launch of his own line of tokenized gifts.

In a record-breaking sale, nearly one million NFT collectibles were snapped up in just half an hour, with the rarest items selling out in mere seconds.

According to Telegram founder Pavel Durov, the project raked in an estimated $12 million within the first 30 minutes. He added that the NFTs will be officially minted on the blockchain and secondary market trading will open in 21 days.

Users can purchase the gifts with either Toncoin or Telegram’s in-app currency known as “stars.”

Durov first teased the rollout of tokenized gifts and stickers earlier this spring during a conference in Dubai. In June, he revealed that the TON blockchain had soared to become the world’s second-largest platform for NFT transactions, trailing only Ethereum, amid surging interest in NFT gifts and stickers.

On the back of this success, major NFT collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club and Azuki have also joined the Telegram ecosystem.

Snoop Dogg, an outspoken advocate for crypto projects since 2021, recently launched his own Telegram channel and continues to play a leading role in NFT culture.

NFTs—non-fungible tokens—are unique digital assets with blockchain-certified ownership. They took the world by storm during the crypto boom of 2021–2022, when images, videos, and other digital collectibles sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars and collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club developed cult-like followings.
