Luxury Yacht Murder Shocks Billionaires’ Paradise: 20-Year-Old Stewardess Killed in Bahamas

A luxury superyacht anchored off the exclusive Harbour Island—dubbed the “Billionaires’ Backyard” — became the scene of a brutal crime last Thursday, after 20-year-old South African stewardess Paige was found murdered in the engine room of the £9.5 million charter vessel, Far From It.

Paige, described by friends as a “golden girl,” worked as a guest relations officer on the yacht, which caters to celebrities and ultra-wealthy holidaymakers. Her body was discovered by crew members after she went missing, just days before her 21st birthday celebration was planned by her boyfriend.

Police have arrested a 39-year-old Mexican mechanic, a fellow crew member, who was found at the scene with self-inflicted wounds and a knife in hand. Authorities suspect he attempted suicide after the killing. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.

The shocking incident has sent ripples through the exclusive resort community, home to over 20 billionaires and frequent visitors such as Bill Gates, Mick Jagger, and Prince Harry. Paige’s family, devastated by the loss, is now facing the difficult process of repatriating her body and seeking justice far from home.

“We are devastated beyond words and must now navigate complex and costly legal proceedings in a foreign country,” Paige’s family said in a statement, appealing for public support during “this unimaginable journey.”

The suspect has been formally charged with murder and appeared in court in Nassau. The Bahamas police continue to investigate, while the local yachting community mourns the loss of one of its own in what many are calling an unthinkable tragedy.
